Test 2 – Part 7 – 191

Questions 191-195 refer to the following advertisement and letter.

201 Grand Central,

Roseline Street Phoenix, Arizona

July 23

Ms. Rosemary Blitz

Hotel Manager, Tropical Star Hotel

#24 Adamson Road

Beverly Hills, California

Dear Madam:

My stay in your hotel has truly been amazing, as it brought me comfort and relaxation due to the many services you offer.

Tropical Star is truly one of the best hotels in the Asian region as far as offering world-class amenities to the guests is concerned. However, there is just one thing that bothered me when I stayed there. During my 3-day stay at your hotel, I was not really aware of the expenses I incurred by using the hotel’s services. I was just shocked at the time I wanted to pay my bill. The cashier charged me an amount much higher than I expected. The date I checked in at the hotel’s Executive suite was on July 19, and I checked out on July 21.1 assumed the hotel would charge me the old rate, but the amount reflected on my bill was based on the new rate. Shouldn’t I have paid only $675? Instead, I paid $750, an amount that was based on the revised rate. The advertisement said the rate that took effect after July 20 would be the new one.

I hope you respond promptly to this letter and provide a refund for me.

Thank you very much.

Respectfully yours,

Jared Kent
