The world’s first traditional Japanese tea house, The Palace of Royal Greenteas, will celebrate its grand opening next week. It will provide extraordinary teas and will also allow tasting of the teas in an ambiance that is both welcoming and relaxing. While tea has been well regarded for 5,000 years in Japan, the Western people only had a first taste of it 500 years ago. Until now, most of the Western tea drinkers have been satisfied with drinking brews mass-purchased from South America in a wide range of types. Nevertheless, during the past few months, tea has become the latest trend with mysterious blends that become an attraction. It also gets a lot of attention that until now, the teas are stored in the same manner as the unusual coffees.
At present, Canadians go through a customary rite of the Japanese tea ritual at 2 o’clock every afternoon. They can also enjoy some of the world’s most costly and exotic teas which were not available in Canada five years ago due to export restrictions.
