Subject: Annual Event

Are you excited about the new year coming up? We’re pleased to announce the date of this year’s Year End party. Luckily, every year we have many employees who have been eager to participate in our company’s social gatherings. This year’s party will be held on Friday December 20 from 6 PM to 10 PM at the Royal Plaza Hotel, the same venue as last year.
The company will be supplying food, beverages, and musical entertainment. Sign-up sheets will be posted in the employee break room from now until December 10. You must sign up if you plan on attending in order to receive a ticket.
Our administrative staff has been working hard to plan this special day so please sign up as soon as possible. We look forward to another memorable event.

Regards,
Josh

Hi Josh,
As you may already know, we have recently formed a company volleyball team, About twenty people have joined so far. After receiving your email about the company’s Year End party, I immediately realized that we have a game scheduled for the same date at 6 PM. I know everyone involved will want to attend both events but I don’t think we’ll be able to reschedule the game because this time we have a game with a few other companies. Would it be possible to change the date of the Year End party instead? If you are willing to consider it, I would be happy to help make the arrangements and check the availability of the hotel banquet halls.
