VENECRUCCI, March 15 — The Venecrucci Tourism Board is launching a new advertising campaign to draw visitors to the city. Using images of Angelo DeFranco, the region’s best known seventeenth-century painter, as its centerpiece, the board will spend 1.5 million euros on this venture. The city will hold a special exhibit at the Venecrucci Art Museum, where more than 40 of DeFranco’s works will be displayed from April 2 through June 14. DeFranco^ works will also adorn huge banners at train stations within commuting distance of Venecrucci. In addition, area hotels will offer special discounts to encourage visitors to spend the night in Venecrucci before or after viewing the exhibit
