As you may know, my agency was hired to help our city develop a campaign to promote tourism. We have created a new video for international distribution and are screening it for the first time on 2 August at 6:00 P.M. in the education room of the City Library—or the atrium lounge if room renovations are not completed by 2 August. The aim of the video is to showcase the city, especially our world-class restaurants, notable museums, and various theatres. The screening will be followed by dinner and a discussion with Andre Kriek, the director, with a focus on the local festivals segment.
Because businesses have a fundamental role to play in the tourism industry, a number of important local business owners are being invited along with the mayor and members of the municipal council. I am writing to share my thoughts on last night’s screening in the library’s atrium lounge. The video truly succeeds in showing off Johannesburg: it is not too long, but it covers every local highlight. The evening was wonderful, especially the follow-up discussion, which provided an opportunity to plan the future of tourism in the city from a business aspect. Thanks for including me; I would have regretted missing this event.
